Everything
just seems to be getting smaller these days – modern electronics
being the best example. If your smartphone can get smaller but hold
more data and be more powerful in general, can the same be possible
for other aspects in your life such as, say, your dental implants?
With mini dental implants, the answer is obviously yes.
Conventional vs.
Mini Implants
The
typical process for conventional dental implants could be lengthy and
uncomfortable, and entail long recovery periods. There might also be
a need for invasive surgery or for bone grafting before your implant
can be placed. Mini dental implants take away most of these
disadvantages.
The Structure
Mini
implants are, by definition, much smaller screw-like attachments than
the conventional types, with a diameter of a hundredth of an inch, as
compared to the one-fifth of an inch conventional implants. The
former are also a lot more solid and compressed, giving them more
potential for strength than the traditional ones.
Single-Day Implants
Another
inconvenience conventional dental implants bring is that they need
two or more sessions to be fitted, so the process can be quite
complex. Many dentists, on the other hand, have taken to calling mini
implants “single day implants” because they need no more than a
single session to be completely attached.
